Biography

George Lowery served with the 2nd Battalion DLI at Razmak in 1930 on the North West Frontier of India and was awarded the India General Service Medal. In 1940, Sergeant Lowery was taken prisoner at Dunkirk, whilst serving with the 11th Battalion DLI, and spent the rest of the war in a German Prisoner of War camp. After the war, he emigrated to Canada, where his family still lives.
